Marian L. Morgan
December 11, 1921 - April 20, 2025 (Age 103)
Marian L. (Smith-Hutter) Morgan, aged 103 went home to be with her Lord and Savior April 20, 2025.
Born on December 11, 1921 in Wellersburg PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. Smith and Ida G. (Getz) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: William R. Smith and Earl E. Smith, Jr., her first husband Alfred J. Hutter in 1972; and her second husband, William F. Morgan in 2009. Marian was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Marian was a 1941 graduate of Meyersdale high school. Immediately following graduation, she was employed at the Celanese Corporation. Later she worked as a secretary bookkeeper at Whittaker’s Maytag Appliance Center, Cumberland. She retired in 1988 from Goldsmith Black Inc.
She enjoyed her home, family, flowers, and traveling. She was a member of September Singers and sang in her church choir for many years. She and her late husband Bill volunteered at various nursing homes ministering with instrumental music and singing for many years.
Marian was a member of Ellerslie United Methodist Church then Holy Cross, United Methodist Church, Carpendale, WV.
Surviving are her son: Paul Hutter and daughter-in-law, Ann; her grandchildren: John Hutter and wife Shari; Sara Clark and partner, Darron Jones; and Lori Thomas and husband, Seth; her great-grandchildren: Jackson and Riley Clark, Liam and Arya Hutter; and her step great-grandchildren: O’Chun, Caden and Jaxon Jones; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Ken Hamilton officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
