Marion Moore

April 7, 1932 – March 11, 2026 (Age 93)

Marion Jean Moore, known affectionately as Jean to her friends and family, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on March 11th in Columbus, Ohio.

Born in 1932 in Pomeroy, Ohio, Jean was a beacon of warmth and joy in the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted daughter to her parents, Silas Bennet and Lera Howell, and a loving partner to her late husband, George Moore. Her legacy continues through her three sons, Randolph, Anthony, and Gregory, who sadly predeceased her, and her cherished grandchildren Angela, Misty, Eric, Chad, and Crystal, along with a host of great-grandchildren and in-law family members who were touched by her generosity.

Her work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she successfully ran her own restaurant and served with kindness as a waitress, touching the lives of countless patrons with her loving nature and infectious laughter. Those who knew Jean will fondly remember her for her wisdom, humor, and the boundless love she had for the natural world. Her passion for flowers, butterflies, and teapots was matched only by her adoration for animals. From the horses of her youth to the many household pets she cared for over the years, Jean's compassion for all creatures was a testament to her gentle soul. As we reflect on Jean's life, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

Jean's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind, as someone who not only loved deeply but became an integral part of the fabric of their lives. Jean's sense of humor was a gift that lifted spirits and brought smiles even in the most challenging times. Her laughter was contagious, her jokes timely, and her ability to find humor in the everyday was a rare and precious quality that made every moment spent with her a joy. As we say goodbye to Marion Jean Moore, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart given freely, and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire us all. She was a beacon of light in the lives of her family, friends, and all who were graced by her presence. Jean's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the unwavering belief in the goodness of people. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will remain with us, guiding us like a gentle whisper in the wind.
