Marjorie A. Ryckman
October 15, 1929 - July 26, 2022 (Age 92)
MANSFIELD: Marjorie Ann Holtsberry Ryckman, 92, of Mansfield passed away Wednesday morning, July 26, 2022 at home.
The daughter of Roy and Mary Soler Pickrell, and one of 12 children, Marjorie was born October 15, 1929 in Zanesville. She graduated from Zanesville High School. Marjorie taught dance as an instructor in Newark.
An extremely gifted and talented seamstress, Marjorie operated her own drapery business. Hard working and very motivated, she was proud of her abilities as a female business owner in the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s.
She was former president of the Mansfield Women’s Club and Tyger Moms. For over 50 years she was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
An expert at bridge, she enjoyed playing cards. Selfless, she received the most joy in giving to those less fortunate, especially children.
She is survived by her son Brad Holtsberry of Mansfield; sister Betty Drake of Zanesville; step children Stanley Ryckman of Massachuets, Dr. Stewart (Susan) Ryckman of Mansfield, and Carol (Tom) Frost of Virginia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Holtsberry, second husband Stanley Ryckman, half daughter Lynda Dotson and 10 siblings.
Funeral mass will be offered Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 60 South Mulberry Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44903. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
