Marsha Patricia Hamilton, born March 17, 1939, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 10, 2026.
Marsha was a loving and devoted mother who raised her children alongside the love of her life, Donald Vernon Hamilton, who preceded her in death. She was known for her deep love of family and friends and for the joy she found in being surrounded by those she loved. An enthusiastic sports fan, Marsha relished watching games and never missed an opportunity to talk sports with anyone willing to listen. Family gatherings and shared meals were paramount to her, and she treasured every moment spent with loved ones.
Marsha was a proud and strong Catholic woman and a registered nurse who devoted more than 40 years to a profession she truly loved. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to caring for others defined both her career and her character. She was also a proud first-generation Syrian American, deeply valuing her heritage and the strength, resilience, and traditions passed down through her family.
After Don retired from the United States Air Force in 1985, they settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Marsha built a life centered on family.
She is survived by her beloved children: Chris (Holley), Eryck (Kirstan), Matt (Traci), and Helen; her cherished grandchildren Patrick, Maggie, Gracen, Hayes, Westphal, Solomon, Campbell, and Madeleine; her sister, Sylvia Early; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Marsha will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on through the lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held on January 16, 2026, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, located at 3016 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211, at 11:00 AM.
Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
