Marvin Kehler, Sr.
March 2, 1938 - June 29, 2023 (Age 85)
Marvin “Grump” Kehler Sr., 85, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on June 29, 2023, at Keystone Villa in Douglassville, PA. He was the husband of the late Eva May (Schnoke) Kehler, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage until her passing on July 26, 2022.
Born in Hegins, PA, on March 2, 1938, Marvin was the son of the late Earnel and Sadie (Carl) Kehler.
Marvin worked for Mayer Pollock in Pottstown, PA, before going to American Crane & Equipment Corporation in Douglassville, PA, where he worked for over 30 years, until he retired in 2004. He was a longtime and active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Pottstown. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed fishing, gardening, and mowing his lawn with his riding tractor. Marvin and his siblings remained close, making sure that their own children knew all their aunts and uncles, and all their cousins. Marvin treasured the times he spent with his family at yearly family gatherings in Hegins and later to include Knoebels Grove Park. Marvin had many skills and the ability to fix things for himself and would always volunteer to help others in need.
Marvin is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Vickianne (& Paul) Ragalyi and Rosemarie (& Jay) Daegele; his stepchildren, Larry Kehler Jr., Linda (& Bob) Salaki, and Chuck (& Paula) Kehler; his siblings, Beverly (& Ed) Kane, Geraldine Branch, and Caroline (& Joe) Meer; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Betty Baylor; and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Marvin was predeceased by his son, Marvin Kehler Jr.; his grandson, Jerimy Kehler; his great-grandsons, Dustin Jensen, Charles Hughes III, and Jaylin Thomas; and his nine siblings.
A viewing will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA 19464.
