Mary A. Gray-Main
June 20, 1923 - April 28, 2022 (Age 98)
Mary A. Gray-Main, 98, of Short Gap, WV, went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2022 at UPMC Western Maryland.
She was born on June 20, 1923, in Midland, MD, to the late William and Lillian Gray. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Walker Main; son, James W. Main Sr.; and an infant daughter, Rita Marie Main.
Mary graduated from Central High School of Lonaconing in 1942. She worked as a spinstress for the Celanese Corp until she was married. Mary was a member of the Short Gap Volunteer Fire Co Ladies Auxiliary and Wesley Chapel UME where she was a part of the woman’s society.
Mary was known to love cooking and helped every year to make Easter eggs for church. She loved spending time with her family at camp and especially the time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Mullin and husband, Randy, of Barboursville, WV; grandchildren, Gina Marie Towne, Jennifer Michelle Billups and husband, Jason, and James Main, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lyndia Main; great-grandchildren, Samantha Towne, Mea Billups, Kylie Billups; a great-great-grandson, Hunter Plumley; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD.
A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
