Mary Hawkins

Mary Eleanor (Donahue) Hawkins passed away September 14, 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio May 22, 1927. A graduate of South High School Class of 1945. She followed her two sons through school working in the school cafeterias at Beery and Marion Franklin. She later became the cafeteria manager at Southwest Career Center up until her retirement. Mary was a faithful woman, attended Sonshine Mission and The Pentecostal Church of God. She was a member of The Marion Franklin Civic Association. Preceded in death by her husband, William H. Hawkins, son, Mark Hawkins, daughter-in-law, Connie Hawkins, parents, Holly and Anna Donahue, brother, Baysil Donahue, and brother-in-law, Jim Schwendeman. She is survived by caretaker and son, William A. (Rebecca S.) Hawkins of Grove City; grandchildren, Cheri Hawkins, Tika Hawkins, and Chad Hawkins along with 5 great-grandchildren, and sister, Sandy Schwendeman. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 19 from 2 to 5 pm at O. R. Woodyard South Chapel 1346 S. High St. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 20, at 10:30 am at Pentecostal Church of God, 1101 Obetz Rd., Pastor Mark Hatfield officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
