Mary M. Isenhour
October 8, 1945 – June 21, 2026 (Age 80)
Mary Montueri Isenhour, 80, passed away on June 21, 2026, at Charlotte Health and Rehabilitation Center on Toddville Road in Charlotte.
Born on October 8, 1945, in Mecklenburg County, Mary grew up with a strong sense of family, responsibility, and quiet determination. She graduated from South Mecklenburg High School and soon began her professional career with First Union National Bank, where she worked as an internal clerk confirming deposits and transfers. Her attention to detail and steady reliability made her a trusted part of the team.
On October 5, 1968, Mary married the love of her life, Gary Isenhour, and together they built a home centered on devotion, partnership, and the joy of raising their children. They were blessed with two sons, Daniel and Brian, and later an infant son, Christopher, who preceded her in death.
When her boys began school, Mary shifted her work life to be closer to them, driving a school bus for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. As they grew older, she embraced her greatest calling-being a full time mother and caretaker of the home. She poured her heart into creating a warm, welcoming household and took pride in keeping the outside of the home beautiful through her love of flower gardening.
Mary had a gentle, creative spirit. She enjoyed painting, spent years in a bowling league, and found joy in beach trips, beach music, and shag dancing. She adored her cats, who were constant companions throughout her life. Above all, Mary cherished her roles as wife and mother; her family was the center of her world, and she gave them her unwavering love.
Mary is survived by her son, Daniel Isenhour of Indian Trail, NC; and her brother, John Montueri and his wife Jan of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary; her sons, Brian and infant son Christopher.
Mary''s family has entrusted the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home with the honor of caring for her and for them. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 3, 2026, in the funeral home chapel at 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. A funeral service will follow at noon. Afterward, Mary will be taken in a formal procession to Sunset Memory Gardens, where she will be entombed next to her husband.
Mary's life was one of quiet devotion, steady love, and a heart that always put family first. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
