Mary Margaret Hostetler

June 13, 1947 - May 30, 2025 (Age 77)

LaVale, MD- Mary Margaret Hostetler, 77, of LaVale, MD passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at Egle Nursing Home.

Born June 13, 1947 in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Hostetler was the daughter of the late Joseph Campbell and Margaret (Graham) Campbell. She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Bryce Andrew Williams.

Mary graduated from Catholic Girls Central Academy and then graduated from Frostburg State University. She retired from Allegany County Public Schools, working at Columbia Street, Eastside and lastly Washington Middle School. After retirement, she taught English as a second language in several schools. She was also very involved with the local spelling bee.

Mary was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and was a member of the former LaVale Lionettes. She enjoyed traveling and particularly going on trips in Europe as well as the trips to Atlantic City with her sisters. She also enjoyed going to the local bingo halls.

Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years: Terry Hostetler; a son: Scott Hostetler and wife Rebecca; a daughter: Kelly Williams and husband Jason; her grandchildren: Cooper Hostetler and wife Jade; Evan Hostetler, Kinsey Hostetler, Jack Williams, Brooke Williams and Brynn Williams; her sisters: Ann Warne and Joan Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, PA., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Ed Hendricks officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Egle Nursing Home for all the care and compassion given.
