Mary Stahl

Cumberland—Mary Theodora “Dottie” Stahl, 92, of Cumberland, presently residing with her daughter, Jennifer L. Lease, in Greensburg, PA, passed away at the St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg on September 21, 2022.
Born in Cumberland on November 15, 1929, she was the daughter of late Elize and Mary Theodora (Clark) Shaffer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Darrell W. Stahl; son, Jeffrey C. Stahl; sister, Anna Marie Huff and husband, Luther; brothers, Edward Shaffer and wife, Rose, Ray Shaffer and wife, Julia, Penny Shaffer and wife, Emma, Robert Shaffer, and Thomas Shaffer and wife, Patricia.
Dottie was a 1946 graduate of Ursuline Academy. Following high school, Dottie was employed by Schwarzenbach’s Men’s Store. After raising her family, Dottie was employed by the Bon Ton Department Store.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Dottie enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several card clubs.
In addition to Jennifer and her son-in-law, William Lease, Dottie is survived by her daughter, Jackey Stahl; grandchildren, Stacy Stahl Duncan and husband, Mark, Ryan Lease and wife, Carrie, Adam Lease, Krista Collins and husband, Paul, Christy Neilson and husband, Mark, Trisha Grahm and husband, Kevin; great grandchildren, Jada, Kirby, William, Madison, Bradford, Kayla, Devan, Hannah, Brody, Theo, Stone and Denali. Dottie is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
At Dottie’s request, she will be cremated. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 11 A.M. until 1:45 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 2 P.M. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
