Matthew James Brooks

Matthew James Brooks, 54, of Columbus, died at 12:55 P.M. on August 4, 2024. He was born April 22, 1970, in Zanesville, the son of William D. Brooks and the late Kathleen Jo (Sarbaugh) Brooks. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Matthew was a longtime truck driver and enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
In addition to his father, Matthew is survived by his sister, Amy Jo Brooks; three aunts, Carol Ann Hoff, Nancy (David) Green and Mary Ellen (Tim) Rhodes; two uncles, Dave (Sharon) Brooks and Terry (Cheryl) Brooks; and longtime friend, Kristi Hoovler.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
