Matthew James Overdorf, 50, peacefully passed away on February 27, 2024, at his home in Pottstown, PA. Born in Pottstown, PA, on October 12, 1973, Matt was the son of the late Mickey and Ann (Zlotnick) Overdorf.

Matt graduated from Pottstown High School in 1994, and worked as a machine operator for SFS for eight years. In his spare time, Matt enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, going on car rides, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, cooking (especially spicy foods), and spending time with his family and friends. Additionally, he was a dedicated member of the Stonersville Fire Company.

Matt is lovingly remembered by his fiancée, Shay Gery; his son, Johnathan (& Kendall Eisenhard) Overdorf; his grandson, Dallas Overdorf; his siblings, Mark Overdorf, Kelly Ann (& John) Horvat, and Tracy (& Thomas) Chiyka; his four nieces and one nephew, Angela Horvat, Amanda Lynne Horvat, Allison Horvat, Kyleigh Ann Yost, and Brenden Yost; and his black cat, Mo.

A viewing will take place on March 2, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. To honor Matt's love for the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite color, blue, the family invites everyone to wear something Cowboys-themed, blue, or just comfy jeans to his Life Celebration, reflecting his easygoing style.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matt’s memory to Cat Angel Network, PO Box 3071, Stowe, PA 19464. Additionally, guests are welcome to bring their contributions directly to the service on Saturday.
