Maxine Sanders

Ethel Maxine, known lovingly as “Mac,” “Aunt Mac,” “Mom,” “Mommie” and “Nannie.” Just one month shy of her 98th birthday, Ethel Maxine — known to so many by so many names — passed from this world leaving behind a warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to walk through her door. The youngest of 10 children born to Joseph and Maude Steward, she lived a life as full and rich as the meals she set on her table. She was married to her beloved husband, Paul, for 61 years. Together they raised two daughters. She was a homemaker at heart, and also shared her gifts with the community, working in the fabric department at Hills and at Brookville. Maxine leaves behind her two daughters, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her sonsin- law, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a wide circle of beloved nieces and nephews. On Friday, April 17, 2026, funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry Sanders officiating at Mon Valley Memorial Park Chapel, 49 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033.
