Maxwell Blue McDaniel, age 24, passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022. Max was born May 23rd, 1997 in Charlotte, North Carolina and was the son of Michael Dean McDaniel and the late Holly Renee Chambers McDaniel. Max graduated from Independence High School in Mint Hill, North Carolina. Upon graduation, Max held several roles as a food runner with different restaurants in the greater Charlotte area.
Max was known for his artistic abilities and passion for music. He spent his free time producing and writing rap songs which he performed at local events and talent shows. He was also known for his emotional and impactful slam poetry, which allowed him to become a part of a Charlotte-based slam poetry group, BreatheINK. Max competed in a youth slam poetry tournament held in Charlotte and was ultimately awarded a place on a team of 6 individuals who were the first youth team to represent Charlotte at Brave New Voices in Philadelphia, an annual international poetry slam. He loved to read about and explore spirituality. Max constantly spread the message of love to the world.
Max loved his two dogs, Ash and Luffy, more than anything, and spent most of his time in their company. Max is survived by his father, Michael Dean McDaniel, 63, his sister Zoe Rose McDaniel, 23, and Jerik Simmons, 30, as well as his Uncle, Kevin McDaniel, cousins Wesley McDaniel and Alyse Eisenberg, and many other relatives, close friends, and loved ones. Max had a lasting impact on anyone who had the honor of knowing him.
A visitation to celebrate Max’s life will be held on Sunday, March 27th 2022 at 3:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC, 28212.
