Melvin Sydebotham

Melvin D. Sydebotham, 87, of McConnelsville passed away on Mon., Jan. 19, 2026 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home. He was born on Feb. 16, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Lloyd Sydebotham and Mildred Stevens Riley. He served many years as the Minister for the Calvery Baptist Church in McConnelsville. He is survived by 4 sons, Dale (Gloria) Sydebotham of McConnelsville, Melvin (Kathy) Sydebotham Jr. of McConnelsville, Matthew Sydebotham of McConnelsville and Jason Sydebotham of Surf City NC, a daughter, Judy Cain of McConnelsville, 2 brothers, Earl Riley of New Haven, WV and Danny Riley of Clifton, WV, 2 sisters, Betty Young of Clifton, WV and Maureen King of New Haven, WV, 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred Stewart Sydebotham and a brother, Clyde Moore. A graveside service will be held on Weds, Jan. 21, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Zanesville Memorial Park on Military Ave. in Zanesville.
