Michael A. Kozieniak

Michael A. Kozieniak, 64, of Cowansburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, in Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 25, 1959, in Jeannette, a son of the late Jacob and Joyce (Ray) Kozieniak. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his great-aunt, June Barwiolek. Prior to his illness, Mike was a tri-axel driver, having worked for Peter J. Caruso & Sons Inc., located in Pittsburgh for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, gardening and just sitting on the porch, listening to music. He enjoyed spending time at June Bug's, Sutersville, and always had room for Libby's cooking. Mike is survived by his daughter, Jillian (Matt Gross) Kozieniak, of Hutchinson; brother, David Kozieniak, of Cowansburg; two sisters, Ronni (Lenny), of Peters, Va., and Fredericka Shiner, of Cowansburg; and special nephew, Camryn Shiner. He is also survived by the mother of his daughter, Jackie Yorio, of Herminie. Mike will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME, 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251, at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
