Michael Anthony Pietrzyk

Of North Huntingdon, formerly of North Braddock, age 52, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Known simply as Mike or “Big Mike” to family and friends, he will be remembered as a loving, kind, and friendly man whose brought comfort and warmth to many.

Born the son of Helen Arlene “Sis” (Pendro) Pietrzyk and the late Marion A. "Pete" Pietrzyk.

Beloved husband of Susan M. (Fry) Pietrzyk for 23 years.

Loving Dad of Michael A. Pietrzyk, Jr. and Samantha Pietrzyk, both of North Huntingdon.

Cherished brother of Terry Pietrzyk of Forest Hills, Cathleen Pietrzyk of North Braddock, Pamela Mattes of Braddock Hills, and the late Jimmy Pietrzyk.

Adored son-in-law of William Fry, Sr. and the late Nellie Fry.

Dear brother-in-law of William (Deana) Fry, Jr.

Treasured uncle of Anthony and Vincent Trunzo, Christopher Mattes, Marianne Rhodes, and Nicholas and Dominic Fry.

Also survived by his Golden Retriever, Chaos, who brought Mike immense joy.

Mike was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School, and went on to obtain dual bachelor’s degrees from Duquesne University in both Criminal Justice and Global Studies. Mike was a valued employee of UNFI, a grocery distribution center located in New Stanton. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons Infinity Lodge #546, where he valued fellowship and the sense of connection that came with being part of a longstanding tradition of brotherhood and service. An avid outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed fishing and gardening, taking satisfaction in watching things grow. He was also a member of the Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen’s Club. Above all else, Mike cherished his family. Being a father was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he was deeply involved in the lives of his children. He faithfully followed them through their baseball and softball seasons, cheering them on with pride and encouragement. He was equally devoted to their karate successes, often traveling nationwide to support them at various competitions.

Mike had a heart full of love, and courage throughout his Cancer journey that is inspiring to many. His legacy of devotion to family and commitment to others, along with his quiet strength will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, Turtle Creek, PA 15145, where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Mike will be laid to rest in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
