Michelle S. Perkins
July 31, 1954 - November 19, 2025 (Age 71)
Michelle (Souleyret) Perkins, 71, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on November 19, 2025. She was the devoted wife of Michael R. Perkins, with whom she shared 33 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Phoenixville on July 31, 1954, Michelle was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mae (Wilhelm) Souleyret.
Michelle graduated from Pottstown High School in 1972 and remained actively involved with alumni events throughout her life. After spending several years in Connecticut, she returned to the Phoenixville area where she grew up. Reconnecting with her roots in Pottstown brought her great joy, especially the bi-monthly reunions where she cherished time with old friends. She earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State University Park and later received her Master of Arts from Penn State Graduate School in Malvern. Michelle built a meaningful career as an instructional designer, creating educational programs for corporate learning and development.
In retirement, Michelle embraced her love of the arts, taking lessons and completing numerous pencil, charcoal, and acrylic pieces. She also enjoyed staying active and especially loved her weekly Zumba classes. After retiring in February, she traveled with her husband to Denali, Alaska - an adventure that marked the beginning of many trips they hoped to take together.
Michelle was deeply dedicated to Penn State and proudly supported the Penn State Great Valley Alumni Society. During these last eight months, she devoted much of her time to raising money for scholarships, a cause she cared for wholeheartedly.
She had a deep affection for animals - particularly her cats - and was heartbroken by the recent loss of the family dog. Above all, Michelle cherished her family. She was an extraordinary wife and mother who will be profoundly missed.
Michelle is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike Perkins, and her sons, Scott Perkins and Alex Perkins.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place afterward at Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA 19464.
