Mildred Mae Barna

Mildred Mae Miller Barna, 101 of Greensburg peacefully went to sleep in the arms of the Lord on Saturday December 4, 2021 at the St. Anne Home in Greensburg, where she resided for the last several years and was loved and embraced by all. Affectionately known as “Moog” or “Mickey”, she was born October 23, 1920, the only daughter of the late Jess and Alice Miller in Youngwood, PA. She was a graduate of Youngwood High school Class of 1938. Shortly after, she married John Barna in 1940, and together they built their family on a strong foundation of love. Mickey was an avid gardener spending much of her younger years cultivating beautiful flower gardens. She worked at the Hempfield Tax Office, retiring from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County in 1990. A lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, she carried a strong faith and commitment in God throughout her entire life. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her warm spirit, giving heart, and sweet personality by her beloved children Peter Barna and Jean (Carl) Eberline; her cherished two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother Dean Miller. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her four brothers Glenn, Russell, Bob, Clair, and granddaughter Kristin Eberline Shelek. Please join us to celebrate Mildred’s life with viewing on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:30pm to 9:00pm, and Wednesday December 8, 2021 from noon-1:00 p.m. with Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at ASHLEY D. X. NYE CREMATION CARE & FUNERAL HOME INC. 408 Depot St. Youngwood. Burial will immediately follow service on Wednesday at Westmoreland Memorial Park.
