Minnie M. Galigher

Minnie May “Granny” Galigher, 79 of Zanesville, died 4:34 AM, Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Ohio State University East Medical Center, in Columbus, following a very brief illness.

She was born Monday, September 19, 1942, in Corning, the daughter of John Cairo and Minnie May (Woods) Cairo. She married Cecil Galigher on Saturday, January 5, 1980, and was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.

Minnie graduated from Corning High School and worked with United Technologies retiring following 42 years of service. Following her retirement she cleaned at Fabulous Styles & Cut for over 10 years. Minnie was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She had a passion for shopping and yard sales.

Minnie is survived by five children: Sandra Nicholson, Gerald Snurr, David (Amanda) Snurr, Pamela (James) Swendryck, and Tina Quinlan all of Zanesville; two step-daughters: Vicki and Cheryl; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Hannah Burns.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband: Cecil F. Galigher; one son: Ronald Snurr; three step-sons: David, Cecil and Scott Galigher; four brothers: Clinton, Franklin, Donald, and Bobby Cairo; two sisters: Helen Hill and Louise Dunwoody.

Friends may call Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, and 12 Noon to time of service on Friday. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021, at the funeral home. Minnie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Zanesville Memorial Park.
