Misae Schultheis

July 8, 1937 - April 5, 2022 (Age 84)

Misae (Uehara) Schultheis passed away peacefully on April 5, 2022 and is reunited with her husband of 59 years, George Schultheis. Born on July 8, 1937 in Okinawa, Japan in the village of Ikei to Isamu and Chicka Uehara, Misae worked as a seamstress on the Navy base where she met the love of her life and they married September 12, 1962. After moving to the United States, she worked at Harts Department Store as well as Elder-Beerman Department Store until retirement. Misae was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Ladies’ Aide, Quilters, and Fellowship Club.

She is survived by daughters; Nancy (David) Suciu and Amy (William) Burns; grandchildren Emily (Erik) Cottrell, twins Jeffrey & Bradley (Zarah) Suciu, Braeden and Derek Burns; great grandchildren, Lillian, Eloise, Charles, and Andrew Cottrell; brothers Toshiyuki (Yoko) Uehara, Yasuyuki Uehara; brother in law Edward Sterling; sisters Kikue Nakaishi, Masami (Yosiaki) Neho, and Harumi (Takeshi) Ikemiya. Misae was preceded in death by her parents; husband George Schultheis; brother Masayuki Uehara and brother in laws David and Robert Schultheis; sister Toshiko Uehara and sister in law Melanie (Schultheis) Sterling.

The family will have a private graveside service at Zanesville Memorial Park.
