Mollie passed peacefully at Asbury Rehab/Givens Aldergate on June 18, 2026. Family and friends had spent time with her that morning.

Born in Davidson, NC she grew up with her parents and a younger brother and sister near Davidson College. After high school Mollie went to work for Bellsouth Telecommunications in Charlotte where she worked her way up, retiring as a Traffic Control agent after over 30 years of service. After spending one year in retirement, she went back to work for another 30 years with The Knox Law Center where she met lifelong friends, like Frances and Eddie Knox, and worked until just a few years ago.

Mollie was blessed with two daughters, Teresa "Teri" and Christi. She was married to Danniel Jacobs, who passed in 1997. Met and married Bill Barnes, who passed 2006. Then spent the later part married to Jesse "Ed" Faris, Jr living at Aldersgate until the time of his passing in 2013.

When not working, she enjoyed time with family at home and at the beach until her health did not allow for travel. With her husband Ed she was able to travel around the world to places like Holland (for the blooming of the tulips), Mexico, and across the USA visiting family and friends. When not traveling she enjoyed entertaining, playing cards and dominos, and spending time cooking for her family. Mollie was deeply rooted in her Christian faith and she was an active member within the Providence Rd Church of Christ where she had been a member for over 60 years.

Preceded in death by her parents, a sister Elaine, her husbands, and her daughter, Teresa, Mollie is survived by her daughter, Christi Jacobs of Waxhaw; Son-in-law Bobby Barnhardt of Charlotte; Two grandchildren Heather Goodall Bryson and Justin Goodall (Julie) and four great grandchildren Olivia, Kiser, Steele, Gaige, all of Charlotte. Her brother James G. Reid, Jr and sister-in-law Reglyn "Reggie" Reid of Southern Pines; Stepchildren: Jeff (Reta) Faris, Kim Pond, Jill (David) Wood and Meg (Ian) Burton and their families.
