Nancy Frankenfield
June 28, 1924 - March 30, 2024 (Age 99)
Nancy J Frankenfield entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the age of 99. Born in Lancaster PA, she was the daughter of the late G. Earl and Mary Forrest Brown.
Nancy was a bookkeeper and secretary for most of her life. As a founding member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, she sang in the choir, was a soloist, and later worked in the church office as well as volunteering for many years in the music department office. She was known for the hats that she wore each Sunday morning. Nancy was fashion-conscious with an array of shoes and handbags to match each outfit. Jewelry also played a big part in her fashion picture. She had a special heart for dogs and couldn’t resist stopping to talk to any she saw while out walking. Hearing the birds sing and looking at the shape of clouds gave her delight. While she didn’t have children of her own, she delighted in the two young ones who called her “Great Grammy.”
Appreciation is expressed to the third-floor staff of Rose City Nursing and Rehabilitation, and the staff of Grane Hospice Care for the tender care which all of them extended to Nancy.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy (Richard) Neidamyer and Betty Brown, she was the last of her family.
A Graveside Service will be held at Riverview Burial Park, 1100 S. Duke Street, Lancaster on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Johnston officiating.
