Nancy J. Maxson

Nancy J. Maxson, 79, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, after a short battle of cancer. She was born August 16, 1945, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Edgar and Letty (Zetter) Banner. She was a 1963 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Greensburg.

Nancy enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School, reading, jigsaw puzzles, game nights, playing scrabble, the theatre, and going on bus trips. She also enjoyed her time traveling throughout Europe while her husband Ron was serving in the Marines. Above all though, Nancy cherished her time spent with her family and babysitting her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Ronald L. Maxson; three daughters, Wendy Mull (Donny), Kim Fait (Brent McBride), and Dawn Isler (Robert); nine grandchildren, Rebecca Fait Bastin (Tim), Kara Glendening, Alan Fait (Emily), Mackenzie Mull VanDuzer (George), Alex Isler, Madelena Mull, Morgan Mull, Maggie Isler, and Colton Isler; three great grandchildren, Jaelynn Fait, Kane Glendening, Kolbi Glendening, and one expected great grandson; brother, Robert Banner; sister, Terry Hyatt (John); several nieces and nephews; and their dog, Raider.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Clement officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. www.bachafh.com
