Nancy May Quist

December 19, 1943 - July 23, 2024 (Age 80)

Our Aunt Nancy May Quist (Kauffman) went peacefully with The Lord on July 23rd, 2024, at the age of 80, while in the care of Bridges Hospice while living at Easy Living Country Estates in Hunker PA. She was born December 18th, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, PA, to the late Helen Grace Lash Kauffman and Alton Kauffman Sr. Aunt Nancy worked at Westmoreland Hospital as a dishwasher and retired after 42 years of employment. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Stanton and would frequently call to add a new name to their prayer list. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband Robert “Bob” E. Quist at Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Bob and Nancy met through St Marks, and their first date was attending church together. Nancy enjoyed walks and was a kindhearted gentle soul who loved to send cards. Her cards carried her love and attention to the important occasions to those around her. She had a sweet smile that melted hearts, she made sure to remind everyone that she still loved them and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Alton Sr, her sister Susan Watt, brother Alton Kauffman Jr, and her husband Bob. Surviving her are 26 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, July 28th, from 4-7pm with a service to follow at St Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Stanton. Please bring in your favorite photos Nancy to share. In lieu of flowers and food, in Nancy’s name please donate to a charity of your choice or St Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Stanton. A special thanks to the C. Richard McCauley Funeral home for assisting in organization; St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for hosting; and Pastor Steven Myers for officiating.
