Nancy Vinson

Nancy L. Vinson, 81, of Supply, NC, and formerly of Charlotte, NC, died at her home on August 30, 2024.

Nancy was born in Mecklenburg County, NC, on December 4, 1942, the daughter of and one of nine children born to Daniel and Annie Mae Stillwell Turner. She grew up in Charlotte, graduating from East Mecklenburg High School. She worked for PCA, Package Corporation of America, before focusing on being a homemaker and mother.

Nancy married Mr. Charles Vinson and they were blessed with two sons, Rick and Brian. In addition to being a mother, Nancy enjoyed working in the yard, putting her flowers out, and watching soap operas. A lifelong resident of Charlotte, she had only recently moved to Supply in January of this year to be closer to her son, Brian.

Nancy is survived by her son, Brian, as well as her siblings: Joyce, Shirley, Carolyn, Doris Jean, Steve and Phil. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her son, Rick Allen Vinson; and her brothers, Don and Bill.

Nancy’s family has given the privilege of caring for her in Supply to Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care and in Charlotte to the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home. A service to honor her life, love and blessing will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2 pm in the Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until the time of service. Following the service, Nancy will be taken to her final place of earthly rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte.
