Nancy Wolfe

Nancy J. (DeForrest) Wolfe, 75, of Youngwood, passed away peacefully Monday, January 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born October 11, 1948, in Indiana, PA. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Youngwood and retired from SuperValu. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Nancy was a faithful member of St. Paul UMC in Youngwood and was actively involved in the AACA car club and garden club. She volunteered at the local food bank and for meals on wheels. Nancy was also a passionate football fan and avid golfer, bowler, and bocce player. Most of all, she loved to talk. She and her husband were world travelers visiting all 50 states and 56 countries on 6 different continents, with her last trip to Heaven being her biggest trip of all. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, James DeForrest and Cora (Niehenke) DeForrest. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, John Wolfe, daughter, Michele (Dean) Hawk of Youngwood, granddaughter, Ashley (Bruce) Fronk of Upper St. Clair, and great-grandson, Maverick Fronk. Also surviving are Nancy’s sister, Sandra (Dan) Kremer of Youngwood, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Canterbury Place and UPMC Family Hospice for their care, in particular, Nurse Jennifer and Nurse Sarah. Friends and family will be received Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at MCCAULEY FUNERAL HOME, 101 S 4th St., Youngwood, PA where a service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions, if desired, to Youngwood Fire Department or the Westmoreland Food Bank.
