Nanearle Benson
March 2, 1928 - October 2, 2022 (Age 94)
Nanearle "Nan" Gaither Benson, 94, of Matthews, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Nan was born March 2, 1928 to Robert and Ruby Gaither.
Nan grew up in Iredell county and graduated from Statesville City Schools and Mitchell College. She used her education to help the students in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools where she retired in 1997. She was a faithful member in Trinity Fellowship Church and her positive attitude and bright spirit will be greatly missed.
Nan is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Edward Benson.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Benson (Mary); her grandchildren, Sarah Dills (Matt) and Matthew Benson; and many loving extended family members.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at McEwen's Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 pm at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC.
