Nathan Lee Norris Sr.
May 16, 1960 - October 30, 2024 (Age 64)
Nathan Lee Norris, Sr., age 64, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Born on May 16, 1960, in Zanesville, Ohio, Nathan was the son of the late Ervin E. Norris, Sr. and Dorothy (Martinia) Norris.
A distinguished U.S. Army veteran, Nathan served his country for 18 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class and working as an instructor. He held a Business Management degree and dedicated over 45 years to the baking industry. Most recently, he served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Highland Baking Co. in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he became a respected mentor and leader. Nathan was also actively involved in various Boards throughout the upstate region and nationwide.
Nathan’s faith was central to his life, and he was honored to serve as an Elder at Westview Christian Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Known as a devoted husband, father, and friend, he positively impacted everyone around him.
Nathan is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Becky S. Norris, and his children: sons Nathan L. Norris Jr. (Shana) of North Carolina and Jeff Barnett of Cambridge, Ohio; daughters Misty Barnett Judd (Devine) of South Carolina and Amanda Manares (Michael) of Tempe, Arizona. He was a proud grandfather to Camden Norris, Paige Barnett Ford (Jordan), Truvel Barnett, Jason Barnett, Aidan Stubberfield, Zen Manares, Afton Barnett, and Luke Barnett.
He is also survived by his siblings: Ervin E. Norris Jr. of Newark, Rick Norris (Debbie) of Zanesville, Anthony Norris (Marilyn) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; sisters Donna Norris, Barb Newman (Gordon), and Patricia Alexander Norris, all of Zanesville. Nathan’s extended family includes many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Nathan was predeceased by his brothers Walter E. Norris Sr. and Joseph L. Norris and sisters Diana L. Kelly and Carol A. Person.
Nathan leaves behind special friends, including Wolfgang Huddelson (Terri), Norma Reinard, Lynn Abrams, and his cherished golf buddies.
You may call on the family on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 State St. Zanesville Ohio 43701 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will start at 1 pm.
