Nicolas Pascarella Sr.

Nicolas "Nick" "Bozo" A. Pascarella Sr., 79, of Monongahela (Forward Twp), passed away on Thursday October 31, 2024 in his home. Born November 23, 1944, in Gallatin, he was the son of the late Alexander and Mildred (Gilmer) Pascarella. Nick was a 1963 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School where he excelled at sports, including football, basketball, baseball and especially club soccer. Throughout his life, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and equipment operator for various companies in western Pennsylvania. Later in life he and Pinky owned and operated Pascarella’s Landscape Supply, Hauling & Excavating. With a passion for soccer, Nick began playing at an early age and continued playing into his forties and was fortunate enough to play at times alongside his father, son and grandson. He was an assistant coach for the Ringgold High School Boys soccer team with his lifelong friend Tom DeRosa and volunteered time with the Elizabeth Forward Youth Soccer Association Program. His family meant everything to him and he cherished just being with his family and visiting with his friends. He loved to spend time watching his children and grandchildren play sports or hunting with his son and grandsons. He is survived by his wife Edna "Pinky" (Poskon) Pascarella whom he married on November 28, 1964; two daughters Anita (J.C.) Pascarella Cole of Carmel, IN and Natalie (Larry) Pascarella Fagan of The Villages, FL; a son Nicolas “Nicky” Jr. (Robin) Pascarella of Sewickley; a sister Antonietta "Red" (James) Williams and Franklin (Jane) Pascarella all of Forward Twp., seven grandchildren Brock (Lauren) Hallett and Chase and Bailey Hallett, Chloe, Nicolas III and Marco Pascarella and Mitchell (Kerri) Pascarella, five great grandchildren Bentley, Leighton, Parker and Nyomee Hallett and Nico Pascarella. He was preceded in death by his sister Nicolena Melton who passed away December 18, 2008 and a grandson Nathan Joseph Bartek who passed away March 21, 2003. Friends will be received at the Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767 from 2-8pm Friday, November 8, 2024, where services will be held Saturday at 10:30am with Pastor Nicholas Stephanovic officiating. Interment will follow in Mon-Valley Memorial Park, Donora. A celebration of Nick’s life will follow at the family home.
