Nora M. Stancil
March 29, 1941 - December 5, 2022 (Age 81)
Nora Mae Hough Stancil, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away December 5, 2022. Our “Maw-Maw” was born March 29, 1941, and in her earlier years she worked at the Kenneth Home Fashions, Bain Elementary School Cafeteria, Howell Center, and homemaker. Nora was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working out in her garden, cutting her grass, going out to eat with her friends and keeping her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lady who worked hard and was dedicated to her Lord and her family. Her family brought her so much joy and sunshine to her life. “Maw-Maw” was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her lots of love and laughter into her life.
She is survived by her son, Michael Stancil, Sr. (Tanya); daughter, Renee Ivester; grandchildren, Jessica (TJ); Chase, Amber, and Megan. Great grandchildren Emily, Rylee, and Jordyn. Nora was pre-deceased by her loving husband Lonnie Stancil, son-in-law Michael Ivester and grandson Michael Stancil, Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10 AM at Hopewell Baptist Church, Legacy Campus, 420 Hopewell Church Road, Monroe, NC 28110 with funeral service following at 11 AM. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
