Olivia Funderburk
August 4, 1941 – July 3, 2026 (Age 84)
Oliva Young Funderburk was born to the late Robert E. and Hattie (Hudson) Young on August 4, 1941 in Charlotte, NC. She ascended to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 3, 2026 at home in Batesburg, SC.
Olivia attended York Road High School in Charlotte, NC., and was a faithful and devoted member of the United House of Prayer for All People, where she served on the #1 Female Usher Board.
Olivia was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and employed with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System for 17 years.
Olivia “Libby,” as she was affectionately called by her family and closest friends, loved holidays with her family and the family traditions she held closely to her heart. She was an excellent cook, and her “signature dishes” will always be remembered.
Olivia was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt who cherished her family.
Olivia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jackie B. Funderburk; her brother, Jerry Hudson; and two sisters, Doris Truesdale and Vivian Adams.
Olivia leaves to cherish, honor, and celebrate her memory her brother-in-law, Mr. Frank A. Truesdale; three nieces, Mrs. Terry Wise (Daryl), Ms. Georgia Clark, and Mrs. Christal Prices; two nephews, Mr. Spencer Clark and Mr. Warren Adams (Angel); two great-nephews, Nicholas and Aubrey; four great-nieces, Leanora, Jenae, Joycelann, and Jordan; one great-great niece and nephew; and a host of cousins and friends.
