Oren Chester Duncan
July 26, 1932 - January 26, 2007 (Age 74)
Mr. Duncan, 74, of Charlotte died Friday, January 26, 2007 at Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Duncan was born July 26, 1932 in Pennington, TX, a son of the late Eldred and Iola Ripley Duncan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eldred Duncan, Jr.
A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Duncan's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007 at McEwen - Mint Hill Chapel with Pastor Terry Faulkenbury officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
A private Inurnment will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Sunset Memory Gardens 8901 Lawyers Road Charlotte, NC 28227 beginning at 11:00 AM at The Faith Niche Columbarium.
Mr. Duncan was a avid outdoorsman and hunter. He formerly worked with Macke Vending Co. and later retired from Harold Foods in Gastonia.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Irene Cebula Duncan; children, Debbie Hamby (Danny) of Charlotte and Oren C. Duncan, Jr. of Jonesville, SC; siblings, James Duncan, Franklin Duncan, Bobbie McMullen and Frances Stowe; grandchildren, Beverly, Brandon, Julia, Steven, Jessica and Thomas; and great grandchildren, Kensley and Austin.
