Orville Keller
June 2, 1938 - December 15, 2024 (Age 86)
Orville C. “Russ” Keller, 86, of Cumberland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
Born July 2, 1938, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Alfred Conrad and Virginia Agnes (Swartley) Keller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Bunner.
Russ was a 1957 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He was a member of Potomac Valley Revival Center Church, Rawlings, MD. Most of all, Russ was an avid fisherman and loved Fort Hill Football, GO BIG RED!
He was a Christian who loved the Lord and his family. Russ worked as a truck driver for Chaney Transportation and Charlton Brothers. Russ worked in the shipping department at Kelly Springfield Tires for 23 years. After Kelly’s Springfield Tires, he started his own business called Keller’s Hauling Service, Inc, until he retired, he went on to be a dishwasher at Kline’s Restaurant. Kline’s became his home away from home. Russ never met a stranger and was dearly loved by all who met him.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Christina (Russell) Keller; son, Russell Keller and wife, Tiffany; daughter, Joanie Ellsworth and husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Christopher Ellsworth, Krystal Keller, Kayla Ellsworth, Stephanie Keller and Kyle Keller; great-grandchildren, Rylen, Wayne IV, Zayde, Jaylen, Avery, Camden and Amia; sister, whom he helped raise, Debra Easton and husband, Louis; special family, Rosie and Raymond Broadwater; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bowman, Joan Brehm, Faye Raines, Sandy Martin and husband, Bill; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as an extended church family.
Visitation at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Stottlemyer and Pastor Denny Durst.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be accorded by the Fort Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to UPMC Hospice and/or Potomac Valley Revival Center Church, in honor of Russ’ memory.
Russ’ favorite Bible verse was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Pallbearers will be Russell Keller, Ronald Ellsworth, Christopher Ellsworth, Chris Custer, Kyle Keller, and Rylen Ellsworth.
