Patricia E. Gubash

With profound sadness and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia “Patty” Gubash, affectionately known as “Nunny” to her grandchildren. Patricia peacefully entered eternal rest on August 2, 2026, at the age of 85.

Patty was the loving mother of Kathy Gubash, Paul (Anna) Gubash, Ron Gubash , all of North Braddock, Jaime Baverso of Swissvale and the late Dorothy Ernst. She deeply cherished her 24 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

Patty was the sister of Carol (late Jim) Wilson, Dave (Lynn Nazdan) Lydic, the late Jesse (late Carol) Gerkins, late Barb (surviving spouse, Tim) McConnell and late Richard (late Maggie) Lydic.

Born on January 27, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Patricia was a former long-time employee of Marsh Laboratories in Swissvale. She lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. She had a beautiful spirit and a warm heart that made everyone around her feel welcomed, accepted, and cared for. Her gentle presence was a gift, and her love was one of the greatest blessings her family has ever known.

Patricia was the kind of woman who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She loved without conditions and embraced those around her with grace, compassion, and understanding. Her family always knew they could count on her—for encouragement, comfort, laughter, and unwavering support.

To her grandchildren & great-grandchildren, she was simply Nunny—a name that became synonymous with love, warmth, and home. She played an irreplaceable role in helping raise her grandchildren and lovingly cared for her great-granddaughter, pouring her heart into every moment she spent with them. She created a legacy not through wealth or recognition, but through countless acts of selfless love, quiet sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Patricia believed in God and found comfort in her faith throughout her life. While she expressed her faith quietly, those who knew her witnessed it through the kindness she extended to others, the generosity she showed so freely, and the love she gave without expecting anything in return.

Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we are forever grateful for the years we were blessed to share with her. Her love shaped generations, her compassion changed lives, and her memory will remain a source of strength for all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish the lessons she taught simply by the way she lived: to love deeply, give generously, forgive freely, and always make room for family.

Though we will miss hearing her voice, seeing her smile, and feeling the comfort of her presence, we take comfort in knowing that love like hers never truly leaves us. It lives on in every cherished memory, every family tradition, every embrace, and every heart she touched.

Our beloved Nunny, thank you for loving us so completely. Your kindness, your strength, your beautiful spirit, and your unconditional love will remain with us forever. You will always be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.

Patty will be laid to rest in Penn Lincoln Cemetery.
