Patricia L. Johnson
April 8, 1943 – August 23, 2026 (Age 83)
Patricia “Pat” Lee Johnson, 83, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard William Coulter and Vera Adele Dachs. She is survived by her loving husband, Darwin S. Johnson, with whom she shared 61 years together.
Pat graduated from Manheim Township High School, class of 1961. She graduated from Millersville University in 1964. Pat married Darwin Johnson in November of that year. Pat taught in the Elementary Schools of Manheim Township, Lancaster Church of the Brethren Preschool, and she was the director of Covenant United Methodist Church Child Care Center. During her free time, Pat enjoyed playing the marimba, piano, and singing in the church choir.
Pat was a longtime member of Bethany Evangelical United Brethren Church, Covenant United Methodist Church, and Calvary Church of Lancaster, PA. Pat and Darwin spent a short time as Church Missionaries serving the Navajo Nation in New Mexico.
She is also survived by her two sons, Matt Johnson (Jennifer) of New Orleans, LA and Peter Johnson (Debra) of Dallas, TX; along with her sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her daughter Emily Christine Johnson; and her brother Richard William Coulter, II.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Friends are welcome to the viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
