Patricia Parsons

Patricia Y. Parsons, 84, of Cumberland, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by her family July 12, 2026 at UPMC Western Maryland.
She was born August 31, 1941 in Cumberland to the late Cecil Guy Moore and Dorothy (Borden) Moore-Carter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Rosie (Toter) Moore; a son, David White Parsons; two granddaughters, Amanda White and Kristina (Parsons) Robertson; two great-grandsons, Sebastian Erick Lopez and Gavin Riley Griffin; a sister, Linda Steinmetz; and brothers, William "Billy" Carter, Richard "Dickie" Moore, and Dale Moore; and brother-in-law, Frankie Steinmetz.
Patricia lived a life of service with her family, friends, work, and community. She volunteered at the Western Maryland Food Bank and Union Rescue Mission. She attended church at Gateway West and Soul Harbor churches. She enjoyed playing games, especially bingo and handheld games.
She is survived by her children, LaConna "Connie" Ritchie and husband Steven, John R. Parsons III and wife Donna, and Mary Arnold and husband David; sisters, Diane Steinmetz and Shirley Binnix; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Mary Beth, Stefanie, Melissa "Missy", Jessica, Jason, Melissa, Crystal, and Harmony; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a very large extended family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD.
A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor Jason Smith officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
