Patricia S. Williamson

September 8, 1945 – July 14, 2026 (Age 80)

Patricia "Pat" Stanfield Williamson, 80, of Charlotte NC passed away on July 14, 2026.

Pat was born the youngest of six children, carrying the unique distinction of being the only one in her family born in a hospital. Though she faced the heavy loss of her father during her teenage years, she went on to build a beautiful life, marrying the love of her life, Sonny, and welcoming their beloved twin girls. In the mid-1960s, a job transfer brought Pat and Sonny to Charlotte. Making the big move alongside them was Pat's mother, who lived with them for a time. During these years, Pat was a dedicated stay-at-home mother. She poured her heart into her family and community: she loved to sew, served as her daughters' Brownie and Girl Scout leader, led circle meetings at her church, taught Sunday school, and even found time to bowl in her spare time.

When Pat returned to the workforce, her drive and work ethic quickly shone through. She began working at Metro Tape, where she spent 15 years, dedicatedly working her way up to Vice President—a job she absolutely loved. As life and career paths shifted, she went on to bring her talents to SMS Catering, and later to Ballard Patel CPA, where she worked faithfully until just this past week. Pat truly loved to work, always jokingly but proudly asking, "What would they do without me?" Beyond her professional achievements, Pat’s greatest joy was her people. She cherished every moment spent with her family and close friends. She kept a youthful spark, getting endlessly excited for holiday gatherings, family vacations, and cheering on her grandchildren at all of their sporting events.

Her friendships were a cornerstone of her life, especially her time spent with her cherished girlfriends, the "Shortcakes." She loved sharing stories of their trips together, recalling how they would laugh until they cried all through the night, treasuring the simple joy of just being in each other’s company. Above all, Pat was a woman who put others first. She was always there to lift up anyone in need, living out her life's ministry as a true and faithful servant.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Mr. Julius H “Sonny” Williamson, Parents Willie James & Ida Benton Stanfield, Sisters Elise Beach , Margaret Blocker, Brothers Theodore Stanfield, Leonard Stanfield, and James Stanfield.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters Denise (Jimmy) Leming, Genise ( Danny ) Kydd; Grandchildren James Leming, Sarah Grace Leming, Abigail Leming, Matthew ( Kelsey ) Kydd; Great Grandchildren Sonny Leming , Charlotte Kydd; The Short Cakes; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and very close friends.

A Funeral Service will be held 2pm Monday July 20, 2026, at Moments of Hope Church 709-A International Dr Charlotte, NC 28270 with the Visitation starting at 1pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, NC.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Moments of Hope Church or American Heart Association.
