Paul Kepchia, 99, of Greensburg, died Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Mountain View Senior Living, Greensburg. He was born May 29, 1922, in Export, a son of the late George and Mary (Perich) Kepchia. Paul was a Navy veteran serving during World War II aboard the USS Paul Hamilton. He was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. He was also a member of the SNPJ Club, Carbon and the Roosevelt Club, Hempfield Township. Paul loved spending time with his family and friends, and he especially enjoyed sitting on the bench at his son’s home while talking to the neighbors. He also enjoyed listening to polkas, especially the Marko Polka Show. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores E. (Ferlin) Kepchia; his daughter, Paulette Ream; step-daughter, Carol Paulin; three sisters, Ann, Mildred, and Margaret; and his brother, Albert. He is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Poletini and husband Joe, of Irwin; two sons, Fred Kepchia and wife Rose, of Greensburg, and Denny Kepchia and wife Teri, of Greensburg; step-children, Jerry DeFabo Sr. and wife Mary Frances “Chic”, of Crabtree, and Annette Lancaster, of Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, John “Bob” Kepchia, of Jeannette; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 11:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 12 PM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.
