Phyllis Anne Leed

Phyllis Anne Leed, 87, of Strasburg, PA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025. She was born and raised in Girardville, PA, and was the daughter of the late Walter Edward and Edith (Davies) Stack. She shared 28 years of marriage with her husband John Henry Leed before his death in 1990.

Phyllis graduated from Girardville High School and then went on to complete her nursing training at Lancaster General Hospital Nursing School.

Phyllis began her career at the Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital as a registered nurse where she stayed until later transitioning to Millersville University as an RN in their infirmary. After retirement from Millersville University, she decided to return to work part-time at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community where she stayed working until the age of 76.

She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Phillies, and Frank Sinatra. She was overjoyed to spend her time at home in the “holler” with her two dogs Pippa and Sassy. In earlier years, she loved to travel with her friends and late husband, John. Her favorite destination was Hawaii where she had visited many times.

Phyllis was a woman of unwavering faith who loved to share the love of our savior, Jesus Christ, to as many people as possible. She was an eternal optimist and knew that with the help of her “three best buds” (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), they would lead her to the path that was drawn for her.

Surviving Phyllis are her son John R. “JR” Leed of Kingsville, MD, five grandchildren: Cassidy, wife of Chase Hess of New Holland, Riley J. Reardon of Millersville, Hunter J. Leed, husband of Alaura of Fallston, MD, Chloe E. Leed, and Graydon J. Leed of Maryland, and her sister Edith Carr of Honey Brook.

In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter Leith Anne Reardon (Leed) in 2014, and her brother Robert Stack in 2022.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, with Pastor Rodney Anderson officiating, at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA 17579. A viewing will take place on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Lancaster County Nurse Honor Guard will present Honors at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA.
