Rock Hill, SC – Priscilla S. Capitan, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at her home.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 902 Crawford Road, Rock Hill, SC. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm at the church with Father Joe Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC.
Born in Chester, SC, Priscilla was the daughter of the late Lester James Sanders and the late Lois Parker Hatcher. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Sanders, Jr., brother, Tony Sanders, sister, Mildred Deese, sister, Ann Patrick.
Priscilla was the Activity Director at Fairfield Lanes. Prior to this position, she worked for Smith Enterprises and W. T. Grant in Rock Hill. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rock Hill, where she served on the social committee.
Priscilla was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. A faithful Christian, she loved God deeply and carried a strong and steady faith throughout her life.
She loved the simple things that brought her peace and happiness – time at the beach, fall family trips to the mountains, working in her yard, taking peaceful walks, and spending time with her beloved dog, Abbey, whom she loved dearly.
The moments she treasured most were those spent surrounded by family, especially the special memories made together in the mountains each fall. She dearly loved her husband of 34 years, Gary, who consistently loved her, always ensuring that she had the best care.
She will always be remembered for her love, warmth, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her spouse, Gary Capitan; son, John V. Edwards, II; two daughters, Sherry E. (Mark) Tucker, Rhonda E. (Chuck) Smith; Sister, Christine Brunett; five grandchildren, Mark (Lindsey) Tucker II, Erica (Mitch) Adkins, Madison (Brandon) Merritt, Hayley (Shelby) Mayfield, Chipper Smith; twelve great-grandchildren, Piper Merritt, Skylar Merritt, Brandon Merritt, Iris Merritt, Bella Mayfield, Rose Mayfield, Owen Mayfield, Devin Mayfield, Case Adkins, Lyle Adkins, Lillian Tucker, and Nora Tucker.
