Rachael R. Maldonado

Rachel Renee Maldonado, 20, of Somerset, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, as a result of a car crash. She was born April 9, 2003 to Consuelo Maldonado. Rachel was baptized at an early age at Ascension Lutheran Church, Batavia, Illinois and learned to love her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended grammar school at Red Wing, Minnesota. After moving to Weslaco, Texas, she graduated from Vanguard Academy, a Charter High School in Alamo, Texas. Since that time Rachel has resided in Somerset, PA and worked at the Giant Eagle grocery store on Route #31 as a Cashier. She was easily recognizable by her outgoing personality and big smile. She is survived by her mother, Consuelo Maldonado, of San Benito, Texas; two brothers, Lauro Maldonado, of San Benito, Texas and Hunter Hecklinger, of Warrenville, Illinois; grandparents, Lauro and Rebecca Maldonado, of San Benito, Texas; and Sandra and David Baker, of Somerset, PA. She is also survived by uncles, Lauro L. Maldonado, of Rochester, Minnesota, David P. Baker, Jr. (Rita), of Houston, Texas, John A. Baker and Mark P. Baker (Tara), both of West Bend Wisconsin; and aunts, Sarah A. Baker, of Brownsville Texas and Sharon R. (Omar) Olabi, of Houston Texas; and many other relatives and friends. Rachel will be greatly missed by all. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 1 pm until the time of service at 5 pm at MILLER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 555 Tayman Ave, Somerset, PA 15501.
