Ralph Harris II

June 6, 1970 - January 11, 2026 (Age 55)

Ralph was born on June 6, 1970, in Long Island, NY, to the late Ralph and Louise Harris. He passed away peacefully at his home in Indian Trail, NC, on the morning of January 11, 2026.

Ralph attended school in the Brentwood School District in NY, including Hemlock Park Elementary, West Junior High School, and Sonderling High School. During Junior Junior High School and High School, he played basketball and was part of a well-known "Green Machine Band," where he earned a reputation as the smoothest and coolest drummer around town. If you were near Heckscher Avenue or anywhere near Candlewood Drive in Bay Shore, where Ralph grew up, you would know he was home because you could hear the joyful, and often LOUD sound of the Drummer's Beat.

At an early age, he accepted Christ through faith and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Bay Shore, NY, where he was a faithful junior usher, member of the Sunshine Choir, and later became part of the Music Team, where he continued to rock the church on the kit.

Always a hard worker, Ralph worked in NY at South Oaks Hospital for several years before relocating to Indian Trail, NC, where he worked at SERVPRO in Charlotte, NC, as the Vice President of Mitigation Operations until his illness, Glioblastoma (GBM), forced him into early retirement.

Ralph had a deep love for classic automobiles, cars, trucks, and bikes, always keeping himself in a sweet, spotless ride with shiny rims. He was a proud member of the "Rolling Muscle Car Club" and attended many events, often returning home with trophies. Eventually, family members joked that he might have been paying someone from the club under the table.

Ralph leaves to cherish his memories his loving, devoted wife of 27 years, Maggie Harris, three children, Rashawn C. Harris of East Islip, NY, Dominique R. Jones (Caleb) of Seattle, Washington, Emmanuel R. Harris of North Hills, NC, sister, Yolanda Harris-Igunma (James) of Hauppauge, NY, god-brother, Antoine Dennis of Connecticut, soon-to-be grandson, Jesse James Jones of Seattle, Washington, brother-in-laws, Paul Narcisse, Pierre Narcisse, Ronald Dessources (Akilah), Ralph Dessources (Claudine), Jose Dessources, father-in-law Reynolds Dessources (Pop), mother-in-law, Jacqueline Georges (Jackie), aunts and uncles, Annie Ruth Mitchell, Willie "Punk" Harris (Gertude), Alfreda Puryear (David), Juanita Massenburg (Daniel), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

We will never forget Ralph for his love of football (don't mess with his Giants), storytelling, classic cars, music, positive energy, humor, his famous saying after eating anything that tastes good, "This is BANGING," and if he was not pleased with your driving skills, "Easy, easy, easy."

His legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in all who knew him.
