Ralph C. Hollern
May 21, 1929 - May 24, 2023 (Age 94)
CRESAPTOWN – Ralph Charles Hollern, 94, of Cresaptown, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
Born May 21, 1929, in Ashville, PA, he was a son of the late Francis and Dorotha (Bortman) Hollern. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adelaide J. (Stetter) Hollern; siblings, Vivian, Geraldine, Donald, Martin, and Theresa. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Ralph served his country in the United States Navy for six years. He went on to work at Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He was a very active member of St. Ambrose Church and devoted much of his time to the church and to the Knights of Columbus Pope John Council XXIII. He was also a member of the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie 2883. In years past, he was an avid golfer.
Ralph leaves behind his children and their spouses, Michael F. Hollern (Janet), Mary Catherine “Kay” Leighty (Wayne), Edward C. Hollern (Glenna), and Diane Marie Harvey (Loren); grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon Hollern (Sarah), Daniel Hollern (Jennifer), Andrea Hollern, Miranda Keister (Dylan), Anna Harvey, Alexander Harvey, Elizabeth Harvey, and Matthew Harvey; great-grandchildren, Clara Hollern, Emily Hollern, Jack Hollern, Kacey Hollern, and Andrew Hollern; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD, on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 4 to 8pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Shrine of SS Peter and Paul on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 10am.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Military honors will be accorded by Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Hollern, Daniel Hollern, Alexander Harvey, Loren Harvey, Dylan Keister, and Jeffrey Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ralph’s name may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306
