Raymond George Slack

Raymond "Ray" George Slack, 73, of Zanesville died at 6:49 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Genesis Healthcare ER following an apparent heart attack.
He was born on Monday, April 7, 1952, in Manchester, England, the son of the late George Arthur Slack and Ruth Riding Slack.
Ray served in England with the Royal Regiment of the Fusiliers for the British Forces and when he moved to the United States he worked as a Truck Driver for Mattingly Foods, retiring after over 23 years of service. Ray loved Man United soccer team and after moving to America , The Ohio State Buckeyes, and The Cincinnati Bengals. Ray didn’t know a stranger and to know him, you loved him. He enjoyed going to the local pubs, The Barn and Roosters to meet up with all his friends. His smile always lit up the room and will be forever missed.
Ray truly loved his family, friends, and his fur baby, Shiloh.
He is survived by his wife, Tia Marie Paxson Slack, whom he married June 28, 2005; a daughter, Laura Slack and a son, Warren Slack; stepchildren, Tashia (Jamie) Rose and twins, Tabitha Paxson (Brad Whitler) and Trent (Kerri) Paxson; several grandchildren; a brother Chris Slack and a sister, Yvonne Thompson; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM with Celebrant Jeff Hardwick officiating. Burial will conclude at Zanesville Memorial Park.
