Rebecca Irvin
July 31, 1953 - February 19, 2025 (Age 71)
Rebecca Irvin, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on February 19, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving; caring woman whose kindness and strength touched the lives of many.
Born and raised in the coal mining town of Cherry Valley, Ohio. Rebecca had a passion for cooking and found joy in hosting family and friends, filling her small kitchen with warmth, laughter, and love. She cherished long rides and peaceful walks with her beloved dogs, found delight in watching her grandson play baseball, and treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. A devoted Cleveland Cavaliers fan, she rarely missed a game and spent many late nights watching tennis.
Throughout her life, Rebecca was dedicated to helping young people, spending many years working for the school district and always offering a listening ear to those in need. She found peace at the beach and comfort in the company of family and friends. Her love, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Harold Schrickel; mother, Sue Case; stepfather, Harold "Pat" Case; and brother, Harold "Sonny" Schrickel.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bitty" Irvin; her sons: Krae Merryman (Amber) and Heath Merryman (Aubrey); and stepsons: Mikal Irvin (Amber) and Chris Irvin. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Karter Merryman, Addison Dollings, Grady Dollings, Jeter Dollings, Aurora Irvin, Scarlett Irvin, Savannah Irvin, Kade, Edynn, Mikal, and Gabe. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bettie Schrickel, and her special friend, Katie Fulk.
Rebecca’s love, generosity, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will begin at 3PM with Pastor Joe Dunlap officiating. Cremation Care has been entrusted to the The Snouffer Crematory.
