Rhecy B. Steach
December 3, 1944 - March 19, 2025 (Age 80)
Rhecy B. Steach, 80, Everett, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home after battling cancer.
He was born on December 3, 1944, in Everett, PA, a son of the late Douglas and Gladys (Wigfield) Steach. On September 3, 1966, in Everett, PA he was married to Mary E. (Riggs) Steach.
Along with his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his daughter, Kecia Russell, son-in-law Richard Russell and grand-daughter, Mia Russell, along with sisters Barb Swartzwelder and Pam Williams (Tate) and brothers Charlie Steach (Donna), Bill Steach (Emma), Bob Steach (Sharon), and James Steach, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Charles Swartzwelder.
Rhecy was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1962. Working in several industrial production jobs throughout his career at Standard Register, Westinghouse and Bedford Materials, he enjoyed classic cars, playing golf and spending time with his granddaughter.
He was elected and served as a Snake Spring Township supervisor for 26 years, serving as an active township supervisor until the time of his death. He was a member of the Everett Church of God.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at the Akers Funeral Home Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor William Kisner officiating.
Burial will be held privately at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
