RIchard Brunner
May 5, 1938 - December 24, 2024 (Age 86)
Richard "Dick" O. Brunner, P.E., 86 years, 7 months, 19 days, widower of Janice L. Brunner, née Batman of Gilbertsville departed this realm on Tuesday December 24, 2024, in his home after a prolonged battle with colon cancer.
Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of the late Francis H. Brunner, Pottstown and the late Maydean Brunner, née Smith.
Richard was a Pennsylvania Registered Professional Electrical Engineer at Gillan & Hartmann, Phoenixville for forty plus years, retiring a few months before his passing. He also worked for Sanders & Thomas, Plymouth Meeting and Betz Engineering for a number of years. He worked briefly for the Boyertown School District as Head of Maintenance and Grounds in the early 1980s.
He was an avid golfer remaining active into his 80s until shortly before his cancer diagnosis in 2023. He was also a member of the Boyertown Rotary Club attending many of their golf outings throughout his lifetime.
Richard was a graduate of both Pottstown High School and Penn State University.
Richard is survived by two sons, Jeffrey T. Brunner, Allentown, Richard P. Brunner, Hamburg; a sister, Barbara Daub, Pottstown; and three grandchildren, William, Rachael and Kendall.
A visitation will be held on Friday January 3, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 701 Farmington Avenue, Pottstown.
