Richard G. “Dick” Hamer, 81, born August 31, 1940, went with his Lord on August 9, 2022. Dick was predeceased by his second wife Judy, his first wife Gayle, his mother Ann, his father Richard Sr., and several aunts and uncles. Richard retired from Hempfield Area school district after 34 years of teaching. He left Hempfield for one year to serve as Head Start Director of the first group of eight Head Start program in Westmoreland County. Richard was a member of the South Greensburg United Methodist Church. Dick loved to laugh and loved his family and his animals. He is survived by his daughter, Adrianna Deithorn; his son Chad Hamer (Nikki); and his grandson, who brought him so much joy, Austin.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am in South Greensburg United Methodist Church, 411 Sheridan Avenue, South Greensburg. Interment will private.
