Richard Nicely Sr.

Richard G. “Rick” Nicely Sr., age 81, of Murrysville, formerly of Trafford passed away on Saturday December 7, 2024 in UPMC East, Monroeville. Rick was born on July 16, 1943 in Pittsburgh the son of the late Edgar M and Rose (Lestitian) Nicely. Rick was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator, along with his wife Melrose, of the R.G. Nicely Hvac Inc. in Trafford for over 50 years until their retirement and the business is now owned and operated by his children Joan and Dan. Rick was preceded in death by his son Richard G. “Rick” Nicely Jr. in 2016 and a brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Melrose (Schopp) Nicely; his daughter Joan Nicely and son Dan Nicely; two grandchildren; a brother and two sisters. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Additional viewing will be on Saturday from 9 AM until 10 AM in the Faith Bible Baptist Church, 150 Curry Ave. Turtle Creek. Funeral services will begin at 10 AM with Pastor Gary LaPietra officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
